Brazil INPI President visits JIPA
First, JIPA introduced our history, organization, membership, main activities such as policy projects and expert committees, opinion submission, network with other IP-related institutes, and the like, to help INPI to better understand the relationship between JIPA and JPO and our involvement in IP policy, which were INPI's concerns before the meeting.
Then, a free discussion was held focusing around questionnaires from
respective expert committees sent to INPI in advance. INPI gave a detailed
explanation of the relationship between INPI and the National Health Surveillance
Agency of Brazil (ANVISA) with respect to pharmaceutical-related applications,
progress of accession to the Madrid Protocol, Patent Examination Highway
(PPH), and other topics. The visitors actively exchanged opinions with
the participants from the committees.
