MOU on the Cooperation Activities between WIPO & JIPA

On June 3, 2016, a memorandum between WIPO and JIPA was signed and concluded at the United Nations University by Mr. Francis Gurry, Director General of WIPO and Mr. Kenji Kondo (TOYOTA ), President of JIPA, in the presence of Mr. Toshikazu Tanaka, Chairperson of JIPA, Mr. John Sandage, Deputy Director General of WIPO and other persons concerned.

This memorandum is for exchanging the latest IP-related information between WIPO and JIPA and aims at developing a global, more meaningful IP legislation framework. The memorandum also helps to facilitate information exchanges through bilateral conferences, such as present video conferences held between JIPA and WIPO headquarters at a pace of nearly every other month. This allows both parties to obtain more detailed, timely, and relevant information.
