Japan-China Corporate Cooperation Conferences in Chongqing and Guangzhou
Japan-China Corporate Cooperation Conferences were held in Chongqing on March 11, 2016 and in Guangzhou on March 14, 2016.
These conferences are held annually to allow Japanese and Chinese companies to exchange practitioner-level opinions and information on IP systems and practices, etc., thereby promoting greater IP awareness.
In FY2016, the topics of these conferences were "IP business protection strategies" and "IP strategy implementation management organizations." Both Japanese and Chinese companies gave presentations and participated actively in discussions. In Chongqing, a conference was held by JIPA and the Patent Protection Association of China sponsored by the Chongqing Association of Intellectual Property Protection of Enterprises. In the conference, six Chinese companies gave presentations before approximately 100 participants. The Guangzhou conference was held by JIPA and the Guangdong Intellectual Property Research Association and sponsored by the Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou and the Guangdong IP Office. In contrast to the previous year, as many as 200 people participated in the conference. Eight Chinese companies gave presentations.
The participants in these conferences have realized that Chinese companies in both regions have been rapidly developing and now share many issues with Japanese companies. It has become clear to the participants that these conferences are important platforms for strengthening ties between Japanese and Chinese companies and sharing views about the importance of intellectual property.
