2015 Japan-China Corporate Cooperation Conference (Shanghai) in JIPA
On Oct. 26, 2015, a Japan-China Corporate Cooperation Conference was "held in Japan" for the first time at the JIPA Tokyo office. The conference aims to build a
friendly relationship through presentations and exchange of opinions by companies of both countries on common practical issues related to IP activities of
companies to learn from each other.
The conference has been held once a year mainly in Beijing and Shanghai since a "Japan-China business cooperation and IP Forum" was held in Shanghai in April 2005
under the joint sponsorship of JIPA and the Patent Protection Association in China (PPAC) and in cooperation with the Service Center of Shanghai Intellectual
Property (SSIP).
The Shanghai conference was not held in the 2014 fiscal year and this time we invited Shanghai companies to the conference in Japan. Presentations and lively
exchange of opinions were made by 4 Shanghai companies and 6 Japanese companies under the joint sponsorship of JIPA and SSIP on 2 themes: "IP risk control in
global business" and "IP leverage strategy in business activity." The conference had about 40 participants including observers and was an important opportunity
for Japanese companies other than the presenters to directly listen to the voices of Chinese companies because the conference was held in Japan for the first time.
On Oct. 27, the day following the conference, Shanghai side participants visited JIPA member companies to conduct facility tours, and the full schedule was
successfully completed.
