JIPA Delegation to Thai and Singapore
The Southeast Asia WG of PJ on strategy to Asian countries went to Thai and Singapore from October 14 to 17. This four-member-mini-delegation visited Thai Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), and Intellectual Property Group (IPG) Singapore and so on.At DIP, JIPA delegation brought forward JIPA public comment on reform bill of trademark law and patent law with more detailed presentation. In response, DIP said that they will prepare the revised bill in view of the current economic climate and opinions from Thai companies. We keep eye on DIP to build an user-friendly IP system.
FTI established IP committee with help JIPA OB two month ago, we interviewed FTI staff about IP mind in Thai companies and exchanged opinion about future possibilities of mutual cooperation.
A delegation member, Mr. Anda (DENKI KAGAKU KOGYO K.K.) delivered speech as a Madrid Protocol user at Madrid Protocol seminar in Singapore, the delegation leader, Mr. Koyama (Casio Computer) appealed the necessity for the enhance the level of IP at the Asian Intellectual Property Group joint meeting.
