General Assembly Meeting in FY2012

FY2012 general assembly meeting was held on 31st May. In the meeting, we decided by majority vote on new board members, financial closing/budget, significant action plan, and amendment of regulations.

For the special address, USPTO director general Mr. Kappos was invited as a speaker, and we could learned from his lecture, titled “America Invents Act(AIA) & Global Patent Harmonization” not only the latest progress of the patent harmonization but also his eagerness on the AIA. Especially in his speech, it was honored to hear his anticipation for JIPA’s global activities and was flattered to confirm that Mr. Kappos himself read JIPA’s comments submitted in USPTO public hearing.

In the awarding ceremony, 5 persons of merit received certificates of appreciation and commemorative gifts.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Iwai, JPO director general who was invited a gust, had a speech that JPO wants to push forward a global IP policy in cooperation with JIPA.

Looking back of the meeting, we could see everywhere our slogan’s policy “Creating new IP Vision for the world”
